In the summary of this book, I would like to present several conclusions regarding the potential use of essential oils in modern therapy: Aromatherapy, like other branches of complementary and alternative medicine, has both limits and potential in disease prevention and treatment. It is based on the therapeutic effects of volatile oils, which are natural products biosynthesized by aromatic plants. These concentrated oils contain numerous bioactive compounds that must be used with care, as they may cause adverse reactions. The use of essential oils, whether undiluted or incorporated into bioavailable formulations, allows for safe and individualized treatment. Aromatherapy may be combined with other complementary therapies, such as apitherapy, phytotherapy, balneotherapy, dietotherapy, and manual therapies. Volatile oils and their preparations can play an important role in preventing infectious diseases, including those caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. Aromatherapy remains a valuable method in the modern era, even as medicine is dominated by synthetic drugs and advanced diagnostic technologies. It can be associated with allopathic medicine, thereby enhancing the therapeutic arsenal and improving patients’ quality of life. High-quality essential oils, administered via aerosols, inhalations, gargles, massage oils, etc., contribute to health maintenance and disease prevention, promoting an overall state of well-being. In combination with medicinal plant preparations, bee products, a balanced diet, and an active lifestyle, essential oils help build the foundation for a healthy and happy life.
